Welcome to our October Chalker Chatter!

We are here to bring you information about all kinds of things going on in our school, cool stuff that our kids are doing, and some fun activities, too!

Do you know about the Accelerated Reading Program?

The Accelerated Reader program is a computerized program that tests reading comprehension. Students select books based on their reading level, read independently, and then take a comprehension test on the computer. Students then receive points based on the book's length and reading level over the course of the school year. Once they reach the required number of points for their grade, their picture goes up on the AR Wall! Ask your child's teacher for point details.

Teacher’s Corner:

Did you know we send a physical activity calendar home each month?

Here's how it works:

· Post the calendar where you will see it.

· During the month, initial the activities that you complete.

· At the end of each month, if you have completed 20 activities (15 for September), bring the completed calendar to the gym and get a ticket.

September calendars need to be returned by October 6thLook for the October calendar when we get back from Fall Break.
